Jenny Emfinger

When trauma is experienced, what do we do? It is common to feel anxiety, depression, hopelessness, and anger. Everyone deserves healing, and I want to walk down that path with you. As your therapist, I will help you focus on your strengths and potential to help you move forward in your journey. Together, we will work on reframing negative thoughts, rebuilding trust, and effective communication so you can begin your plan to move forward.

As humans, we all need connection. Healing cannot always occur on your own. I see my role as your therapist to help you untangle your trauma history. I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, paired with person-centered strengths-based techniques to help you recognize your full potential. I also incorporate techniques and principles from solution-focused brief therapy, family systems therapy, interpersonal therapy, and trauma-focused therapy in my working relationship with you. Healing is a passion of mine, and I recognize it can be a daunting process. Together, you and I will shape your healing process in a way that works best for you.

I am an ally to the LGBTQ+ community. As a member of the LGBTQ+ family, I enjoy contributing my understanding, knowledge, and passion within the community. I bring a personal love for issues surrounding our community in an open-minded, judgment-free environment. As your therapist, I incorporate person-centered approaches to help you fulfill your full potential as a person. I maintain a compassionate and empathetic therapeutic relationship while encouraging you to expand your beliefs about yourself.

Clinical Focus

I am excited to work with a wide array of needs. I have several years of work with families, youth and individuals that have struggled with trauma. I would also like to assist with any coparenting concerns and divorced individuals. However, working in the LGBTQ+ community is my highest passion. Other areas of concern I frequently work with are listed here.

I offer individual and couples psychotherapy, and parenting/coparenting training. For more information about services click here or ask!

A little about me

I am a mother to two beautiful teenage daughters and looking forward to marrying my future wife this year. We keep busy with competitive cheer, as both of our daughters are highly involved with travel cheer. I also love traveling! Seeing mountains and the ocean in one trip is my favorite.
